τὸν δὲ τῷ χερνίβῳ ῥάναντα παῖδα διδόντα κατὰ χειρὸς Ἡρακλεῖ ὕδωρ, ὃν ἀπέκτεινεν Ἡρακλῆς κονδύλῳ, Ἑλλάνικος μὲν ἐν ταῖς ἱστορίαις Ἀρχίαν φησὶ καλεῖσθαι· διʼ ὃν καὶ ἐξεχώρησε Καλυδῶνος. ἐν δὲ τῷ δευτέρῳ τῆς Φορωνίδος Χερίαν αὐτὸν ὀνομάζει Ἡρόδωρος δʼ ἐν ἑπτακαιδεκάτῃ τοῦ καθʼ Ἡρακλέα λόγου Εὔνομον. καὶ Κύαθον δὲ τὸν Πύλητος μὲν υἱόν, ἀδελφὸν δὲ Ἀντιμάχου ἀπέκτεινεν ἄκων Ἡρακλῆς οἰνοχοοῦντα αὐτῷ, ὡς Νίκανδρος ἱστορεῖ ἐν δευτέρῳ Οἰταικῶν, καὶ ἀνεῖσθαί φησι τέμενος ὑπὸ τοῦ Ἡρακλέους ἐν Προσχίῳ, μέχρι νῦν προσαγορεύεσθαι Οἰνοχόου. ἡμεῖς δʼ ἐνταῦθα καταπαύσαντες τὸν λόγον ἀρχὴν ποιησόμεθα τῶν ἑξῆς ἀπὸ τῆς τοῦ Ἡρακλέους ἀδηφαγίας.

CTS URN Retriever

The CTS URN retriever is a tool for retrieving and citing paragraphs, passages, and words in the text of the Deipnosophists by typing the corresponding CTS URN. The Digital Athenaeus is providing the text of the Teubner edition of the Deipnosophists by Georg Kaibel (1887-1890), which is cataloged as perseus-grc2 in the Perseus Catalog.

The syntax of the URNs follows the specification of the CITE Architecture.
