Δόρπου δʼ ἐξαῦτις μνησώμεθα, χερσὶ δʼ ἐφʼ ὕδωρ χευάντων· μῦθοι δὲ καὶ ἠῶθέν περ ἔσονται ἐμοί τε καὶ σοί, Τιμόκρατες. περιενεχθέντων γὰρ κωλήνων καί τινος εἰπόντος εἰ τακεραί εἰσι, παρὰ τίνι κεῖται τὸ τακερόν; Οὐλπιανὸς ἔφη. καὶ σίναπυ δὲ τίς εἴρηκε τὸ νᾶπυ; ὁρῶ γὰρ ἐν παροψίσι περιφερόμενον μετὰ τῶν κωλεῶν. οἶδα γὰρ καὶ οὕτως λεγόμενον κωλεὸν ἀρσενικῶς καὶ οὐχ, ὡς οἱ ἡμεδαποὶ Ἀθηναῖοι, μόνως θηλυκῶς. Ἐπίχαρμος γοῦν ἐν Μεγαρίδι φησίν· ὀρύα, τυρίδιον, κωλεοί, σφονδύλοι, τῶν δὲ βρωμάτων οὐδὲ ἕν. καὶ ἐν Κύκλωπι· χορδαί τε ἁδὺ ναὶ μὰ Δία χὠ κωλεός. μάθετε δὲ καὶ τοῦτο παρʼ ἐμοῦ, σοφώτατοι, ὅτι νῦν Ἐπίχαρμος καὶ χορδὴν ὠνόμασεν, ἀεί ποτε ὀρύαν καλῶν. καὶ ἅλας δὲ ἡδυσμένους ὁρῶ ἐν ἄλλαις παροψίσιν. ἀνηδύντων δὲ ἁλῶν πλήρεις οἱ κυνικοί, παρʼ οἷς κατὰ τὸν Ἀντιφάνην, λέγει δʼ ἐν Κωρύκῳ τις ἄλλος κύων· τῶν θαλαττίων δʼ ἀεὶ ὄψων ἓν ἔχομεν, διὰ τέλους δὲ τοῦθʼ, ἅλας. ...... ἐπὶ δὲ τούτοις πίνομεν οἰνάριον, ἧδος νὴ Δίʼ οἰκίας τρόπον. Β. πῶς ἧδος; Α. οἷον τοῖς παροῦσι συμφέρει ἁπαξάπασιν ὀξυβάφῳ ποτηρίῳ. ὁρῶ δὲ καὶ μετὰ ὄξους ἀναμεμιγμένον γάρον. οἶδα δὲ ὅτι νῦν τινες τῶν Ποντικῶν ἰδίᾳ καθʼ αὑτὸ κατασκευάζονται ὀξύγαρον.

CTS URN Retriever

The Digital Athenaeus is providing the text of the Teubner edition of the Deipnosophists by Georg Kaibel (1887-1890), which is cataloged as perseus-grc2 in the Perseus Catalog.

The syntax of the URNs follows the specification of the CITE Architecture.

Using CTS URNs, it is possible to export citations of the Deipnosophists down to the word level. By selecting a portion of text holding down the ALT-key, users get a pop-up window with the CTS URN that identifies the selected chunk of text.
