ΜΟΡΜΥΡΟΣ. τροφιμώτατος, ὥς φησιν Ἱκέσιος. Ἐπίχαρμος δʼ ἐν Ἥβας γάμῳ μύρμας αὐτοὺς ὀνομάζει, εἰ μὴ διάφοροι τὴν φύσιν εἰσίν. γράφει δʼ οὕτως· καὶ χελιδόνες τε μύρμαι τοί τε κολιᾶν μέζονες ἐντί. Δωρίων δʼ ἐν τῷ περὶ ἰχθύων μορμύλους αὐτοὺς καλεῖ. Λυγκεὺς δʼ Σάμιος ἐν τῇ ὀψωνητικῇ τέχνῃ, ἣν προσεφώνησέ τινι τῶν ἑταίρων δυσώνῃ, φησίν· οὐκ ἄχρηστον δὲ πρὸς τοὺς ἀτενίζοντας καὶ μὴ συγκαθιέντας τῇ τιμῇ καὶ τὸ κακῶς λέγειν παρεστηκότα τοὺς ἰχθύας, ἐπαγόμενον Ἀρχέστρατον τὸν γράψαντα τὴν Ἡδυπάθειαν τῶν ἄλλων τινὰ ποιητῶν καὶ λέγοντα τὸ μέτρον· μόρμυρος αἰγιαλεὺς κακὸς ἰχθὺς οὐδέ ποτʼ ἐσθλός. καὶ τὴν ἀμίαν ὠνοῦ φθινοπώρου, νῦν δʼ ἐστὶν ἔαρ. καὶ· κεστρέα τὸν θαυμαστόν, ὅταν χειμὼν ἀφίκηται, νῦν δʼ ἐστὶ θέρος· καὶ πολλὰ τῶν τοιούτων. ἀποσοβήσεις γὰρ πολλοὺς τῶν ὠνουμένων καὶ προσεστηκότων. τοῦτο δὲ ποιῶν ἀναγκάσεις τὸ σοὶ δοκοῦν λαβεῖν αὐτόν.

CTS URN Retriever

The Digital Athenaeus is providing the text of the Teubner edition of the Deipnosophists by Georg Kaibel (1887-1890), which is cataloged as perseus-grc2 in the Perseus Catalog.

The syntax of the URNs follows the specification of the CITE Architecture.
