εἴδη δʼ ἐστὶ πολυπόδων ἑλεδώνη, πολυποδίνη, βολβιτίνη, ὀσμύλος, ὡς Ἀριστοτέλης ἱστορεῖ καὶ Σπεύσιππος. ἐν δὲ τῷ περὶ ζωικῶν Ἀριστοτέλης μαλάκιά φησιν εἶναι πουλύποδας, ὀσμύλην, ἑλεδώνην, σηπίαν, τευθίδα· Ἐπίχαρμος δʼ ἐν Ἥβας γάμῳ· πώλυποί τε σηπίαι τε καὶ ποταναὶ τευθίδες χἀ δυσώδης βολβιτὶς γραῖαί τʼ ἐριθακώδεες. Ἀρχέστρατος δέ φησι· πούλυποι ἔν τε Θάσῳ καὶ Καρίᾳ εἰσὶν ἄριστοι· καὶ Κέρκυρα τρέφει μεγάλους πολλούς τε τὸ πλῆθος. Δωριεῖς δʼ αὐτὸν διὰ τοῦ ω καλοῦσι πώλυπον, ὡς Ἐπίχαρμος. καὶ Σιμωνίδης δʼ ἔφη· πώλυπον διζήμενος. Ἀττικοὶ δὲ πουλύπουν. ἐστὶ δὲ τῶν σελαχωδῶν· τὰ χονδρώδη δʼ οὕτω λέγεται· πουλύποδες, γαλεοί τε κύνες. μαλάκια δὲ καλεῖται τὰ τευθιδώδη. σελάχια δὲ τὰ τῶν ἐρίων φῦλα.

CTS URN Retriever

The Digital Athenaeus is providing the text of the Teubner edition of the Deipnosophists by Georg Kaibel (1887-1890), which is cataloged as perseus-grc2 in the Perseus Catalog.

The syntax of the URNs follows the specification of the CITE Architecture.
