διαφέρειν δέ φησι Χρύσιππος δοῦλον οἰκέτου γράφων ἐν δευτέρῳ περὶ ὁμονοίας διὰ τὸ τοὺς ἀπελευθέρους μὲν δούλους ἔτι εἶναι, οἰκέτας δὲ τοὺς μὴ τῆς κτήσεως ἀφειμένους. γὰρ οἰκέτης, φησί, δοῦλός ἐστι κτήσει κατατεταγμένος. καλοῦνται δʼ οἱ δοῦλοι, ὡς μὲν Κλείταρχός φησιν ἐν ταῖς Γλώσσαις, ἆζοι καὶ θεράποντες καὶ ἀκόλουθοι καὶ διάκονοι καὶ ὑπηρέται, ἔτι δʼ ἑπάμονες καὶ λάτρεις. Ἀμερίας δὲ ἑρκίτας φησὶ καλεῖσθαι τοὺς κατὰ τοὺς ἀγροὺς οἰκέτας. Ἕρμων δὲ ἐν Κρητικαῖς Γλώτταις μνώτας τοὺς εὐγενεῖς οἰκέτας, Σέλευκος δʼ ἄζους τὰς θεραπαίνας καὶ τοὺς θεράποντας, ἀποφράσην δὲ τὴν δούλην καὶ βολίζην, σίνδρωνα δὲ τὸν δουλέκδουλον, ἀμφίπολον δὲ τὴν περὶ τὴν δέσποιναν θεράπαιναν, πρόπολον δὲ τὴν προπορευομένην. Πρόξενος δʼ ἐν δευτέρῳ Λακωνικῆς πολιτείας ἐπικαλεῖσθαί φησιν χαλκίδας παρὰ Λακεδαιμονίοις τὰς θεραπαίνας. Ἴων δʼ Χῖος ἐν Λαέρτῃ τὸν οἰκέτην ἐπὶ δούλου τέθεικεν εἰπών· ἴθι μοι, δόμον, οἰκέτα, κλεῖσον ὑπόπτερος, μή τις ἔλθῃ βροτῶν. Ἀχαιὸς δʼ ἐν Ὀμφάλῃ περὶ τοῦ Σατύρου λέγων φησίν· ὡς εὔδουλος, ὡς εὔοικος ἦν, ἰδίως λέγων ὡς χρηστὸς ἐς τοὺς δούλους ἐστὶ καὶ τοὺς οἰκέτας. ὅτι δὲ οἰκέτης ἐστὶν κατὰ τὴν οἰκίαν διατρίβων κἂν ἐλεύθερος κοινόν.

The Digital Athenaeus is providing the text of the Teubner edition of the Deipnosophists by Georg Kaibel (1887-1890), which is cataloged as perseus-grc2 in the Perseus Catalog.

The syntax of the URNs follows the specification of the CITE Architecture.
