ὅτι δʼ ἤσθιον διὰ τὴν ἀναστόμωσιν καὶ τὰς διʼ ὄξους καὶ νάπυος γογγυλίδας σαφῶς παρίστησι Νίκανδρος ἐν δευτέρῳ Γεωργικῶν λέγων οὕτως· γογγυλίδος δισσὴ γὰρ ἰδʼ ἐκ ῥαφάνοιο γενέθλη μακρή τε στιφρή τε φαείνεται ἐν πρασιῇσι. καὶ τὰς μέν θʼ αὕηνον ἀποπλύνας βορέῃσι, προσφιλέας χειμῶνι καὶ οἰκουροῖσιν ἀεργοῖς· θερμοῖς δʼ ἰκμανθεῖσαι ἀναζώουσʼ ὑδάτεσσι. τμῆγε δὲ γογγυλίδος ῥίζας καὶ ἀκαρφέα φλοιὸν ἦκα καθηράμενος λεπτουργέας, ἠελίῳ δὲ αὐήνας ἐπὶ τυτθὸν ὅτʼ ἐν ζεστῷ ἀποβάπτων ὕδατι δριμείῃ πολέας ἐμβάπτισον ἅλμῃ, ἄλλοτε δʼ αὖ λευκὸν γλεῦκος συστάμνισον ὄξει ἶσον ἴσῳ, τὰς δʼ ἐντὸς ἐπιστύψας ἁλὶ κρύψαις. πολλάκι δʼ ἀσταφίδας προχέαις τριπτῆρι λεήνας σπέρματά τʼ ἐνδάκνοντα σινήπυος. εἰν ἑνὶ δὲ τρὺξ ὄξεος ἰκμάζουσα καὶ ὠμοτέρην ἐπὶ κόρσην ὥριον ἁλμαίην αμυσαι κεχρηόσι δαίτης. Δίφιλος δʼ Σώσιππος ἐν Ἀπολειπούσῃ· ἔστιν ἔνδον ὄξος ὀξύ σοι. ὑπολαμβάνω, παιδάριον, ὀπὸν εἰλήφαμεν. ἄριστα τούτοις πάντα πιέσω καὶ πυκνά, φυλλὰς δριμεῖα περιοισθήσεται· τῶν πρεσβυτέρων γὰρ ταῦτα τῶν ἡδυσμάτων ἀναστομοῖ τάχιστα τᾀσθητήρια, τό τε νωκαρῶδες καὶ κατημβλυωμένον ἐσκέδασε κἀποίησεν ἡδέως φαγεῖν.

CTS URN Retriever

The Digital Athenaeus is providing the text of the Teubner edition of the Deipnosophists by Georg Kaibel (1887-1890), which is cataloged as perseus-grc2 in the Perseus Catalog.

The syntax of the URNs follows the specification of the CITE Architecture.
