τὰς δὲ κόγχας ἔστιν εὑρεῖν λεγομένας καὶ θηλυκῶς καὶ ἀρσενικῶς. Ἀριστοφάνης Βαβυλωνίοις· ἀνέχασκον εἷς ἕκαστος ἐμφερέστατα ὀπτωμέναις κόγχαισιν ἐπὶ τῶν ἀνθράκων. Τηλεκλείδης δʼ ἐν Ἡσιόδοις κόγχη φησὶ διελεῖν. καὶ Σώφρων γυναικείοις· αἵ γα μὰν κόγχαι, ὥσπερ αἴ κʼ ἐξ ἑνὸς κελεύματος, κεχάναντι ἁμῖν πᾶσαι, τὸ δὲ κρῆς ἑκάστας ἐξέχει. ἀρσενικῶς δʼ Αἰσχύλος ἐν Ποντίῳ Γλαύκῳ· κόγχοι μύες κὤστρεια. Ἀριστώνυμος Θησεῖ· κόγχος ἦν βάπτων ἄλλων ὁμοίως. παραπλησίως δʼ εἴρηκε καὶ Φρύνιχος Σατύροις Ἱκέσιος δὲ Ἐρασιστράτειος τῶν χημῶν φησι τὰς μὲν τραχείας λέγεσθαι, τὰς δὲ λείας βασιλικάς. καὶ τὰς μὲν τραχείας καὶ κακοχύλους εἶναι, ὀλιγοτρόφους, εὐεκκρίτους, χρῆσθαι δὲ αὐταῖς καὶ δελέασι τοὺς πορφυρευομένους· τῶν δὲ λείων κατὰ τὰ μεγέθη καὶ τὰς διαφορὰς εἶναι κρατίστας. Ἡγήσανδρος δʼ ἐν ὑπομνήμασι τὰς τραχείας φησὶ κόγχας ὑπὸ μὲν Μακεδόνων κωρύκους καλεῖσθαι, ὑπὸ δὲ Ἀθηναίων κριούς.

CTS URN Retriever

The Digital Athenaeus is providing the text of the Teubner edition of the Deipnosophists by Georg Kaibel (1887-1890), which is cataloged as perseus-grc2 in the Perseus Catalog.

The syntax of the URNs follows the specification of the CITE Architecture.
