κυδωνίων δὲ μήλων μνημονεύει Στησίχορος ἐν Ἑλένῃ οὕτως· πολλὰ μὲν κυδώνια μᾶλα ποτερρίπτουν ποτὶ δίφρον ἄνακτι, πολλὰ δὲ μύρσινα φύλλα καὶ ῥοδίνους στεφάνους ἴων τε κορωνίδας οὔλας. καὶ Ἀλκμάν ἔτι δὲ Κάνθαρος ἐν Τηρεῖ· κυδωνίοις μήλοισιν εἰς τὰ τιτθία. καὶ Φιλήμων δʼ ἐν Ἀγροίκῳ τὰ κυδώνια μῆλα στρουθία καλεῖ. Φύλαρχος δʼ ἐν τῇ ϛʹ τῶν ἱστοριῶν τὰ κυδώνιά φησι μῆλα τῇ εὐωδίᾳ καὶ τὰς τῶν θανασίμων φαρμάκων δυνάμεις ἀπαμβλύνειν. τὸ γοῦν Φαριακὸν φάρμακον ἐμβληθέν, φησίν, εἰς ῥίσκον ἔτι ὀδωδότα ἀπὸ τῆς τῶν μήλων τούτων συνθέσεως ἐξίτηλον γενέσθαι μὴ τηρῆσαν τὴν ἰδίαν δύναμιν. κερασθὲν γοῦν καὶ δοθὲν πιεῖν τοῖς εἰς τοῦτο ἐνεδρευθεῖσιν ἀπαθεῖς αὐτοὺς διατηρῆσαι. ἐπιγνωσθῆναι δὲ τοῦτο ὕστερον ἐξ ἀνακρίσεως τοῦ τὸ φάρμακον πωλήσαντος καὶ ἐπιγνόντος τὸ γενόμενον ἐκ τῆς τῶν μήλων συνθέσεως.

CTS URN Retriever

The Digital Athenaeus is providing the text of the Teubner edition of the Deipnosophists by Georg Kaibel (1887-1890), which is cataloged as perseus-grc2 in the Perseus Catalog.

The syntax of the URNs follows the specification of the CITE Architecture.

Using CTS URNs, it is possible to export citations of the Deipnosophists down to the word level. By selecting a portion of text holding down the ALT-key, users get a pop-up window with the CTS URN that identifies the selected chunk of text.
