ἀλλὰ μὴν καὶ κινάραν ὠνόμασε παραπλησίως ἡμῖν Σώπατρος Πάφιος γεγονὼς τοῖς χρόνοις κατʼ Ἀλέξανδρον τὸν Φιλίππου, ἐπιβιοὺς δὲ καὶ ἕως τοῦ δευτέρου τῆς Αἰγύπτου βασιλέως, ὡς αὐτὸς ἐμφανίζει ἔν τινι τῶν συγγραμμάτων αὑτοῦ. Πτολεμαῖος δʼ Εὐεργέτης βασιλεὺς Αἰγύπτου, εἷς ὢν τῶν Ἀριστάρχου τοῦ γραμματικοῦ μαθητῶν, ἐν δευτέρῳ ὑπομνημάτων γράφει οὕτως· περὶ Βερενίκην τῆς Λιβύης Λήθων ποτάμιον, ἐν γίνεται ἰχθὺς λάβραξ καὶ χρύσοφρυς καὶ ἐγχέλεων πλῆθος καὶ τῶν καλουμένων βασιλικῶν, αἳ τῶν τε ἐκ Μακεδονίας καὶ τῆς Κωπαίδος λίμνης τὸ μέγεθός εἰσιν ἡμιόλιαι, πᾶν τε τὸ ῥεῖθρον αὐτοῦ ἰχθύων ποικίλων ἐστὶ πλῆρες. πολλῆς δʼ ἐν τοῖς τόποις κινάρας φυομένης οἵ τε συνακολουθοῦντες ἡμῖν στρατιῶται πάντες δρεπόμενοι συνεχρῶντο καὶ ἡμῖν προσέφερον ψιλοῦντες τῶν ἀκανθῶν. οἶδα δὲ καὶ Κίναρον καλουμένην νῆσον, ἧς μνημονεύει Σῆμος

CTS URN Retriever

The CTS URN retriever is a tool for retrieving and citing paragraphs, passages, and words in the text of the Deipnosophists by typing the corresponding CTS URN. The Digital Athenaeus is providing the text of the Teubner edition of the Deipnosophists by Georg Kaibel (1887-1890), which is cataloged as perseus-grc2 in the Perseus Catalog.

The syntax of the URNs follows the specification of the CITE Architecture.
