ΒΟΛΒΟΙ. τούτων Ἡρακλῆς ἐσθίειν παραιτεῖται ἐν Ἀμαλθείᾳ Εὐβούλου λέγων· θερμότερον κραυρότερον μέσως ἔχον, τοῦτʼ ἔσθʼ ἑκάστῳ μεῖζον Τροίαν ἑλεῖν. κἀγὼ γὰρ οὐ καυλοῖσιν οὐδὲ σιλφίῳ οὐδʼ ἱεροσύλοις καὶ πικραῖς παροψίσι βολβοῖς τʼ ἐμαυτὸν χορτάσων ἐλήλυθα. δʼ εἴς τʼ ἐδωδὴν πρῶτα καὶ ῥώμης ἀκμὴν καὶ πρὸς ὑγίειαν, πάντα ταῦτʼ ἐδαινύμην, κρέας βόειον ἑφθὸν ἀσόλοικον μέγα, ἀκροκώλιόν τε γεννικόν, ὀπτὰ δέλφακος ἁλίπαστα τρία. Ἄλεξις ἐμφανίζων τὴν τῶν βολβῶν πρὸς τὰ ἀφροδίσια δύναμίν φησι· πίννας, κάραβον, βολβούς, κοχλίας, κήρυκας, ᾤʼ, ἀκροκώλια, τοσαῦτα· τούτων ἄν τις εὕρῃ φάρμακα ἐρῶν ἑταίρας ἕτερα χρησιμώτερα .... CTS URN Retriever

The Digital Athenaeus is providing the text of the Teubner edition of the Deipnosophists by Georg Kaibel (1887-1890), which is cataloged as perseus-grc2 in the Perseus Catalog.

The syntax of the URNs follows the specification of the CITE Architecture.

Using CTS URNs, it is possible to export citations of the Deipnosophists down to the word level. By selecting a portion of text holding down the ALT-key, users get a pop-up window with the CTS URN that identifies the selected chunk of text.
