ἐν δὲ Θεοφορήτῳ αὐτὸς Ἄλεξις· οἶμαί γʼ ἐπιτιμᾶν τῶν ἀπαντώντων τινὰς ἡμῖν, ὅτι τηνικαῦτα μεθύων περιπατῶ. ποῖος γάρ ἐστιν φανός, πρὸς τῶν θεῶν, τοιοῦτος οἷος γλυκύτατος ἥλιος; Ἀναξανδρίδης δὲ ἐν Ὕβρει· οὔκουν λαβὼν τὸν φανὸν ἅψεις μοι λύχνον; ἄλλοι δὲ ἔφασκον φανὸν λέγεσθαι τὴν λαμπάδα, οἳ δὲ τὴν ἔκ τινων ξύλων τετμημένων δέσμην. Μένανδρος Ἀνεψιοῖς· φανός ἐστι μεστὸς ὕδατος οὑτοσί· δεῖ τʼ οὐχὶ σείειν, ἀλλʼ ἀποσείειν αὐτόθεν. Νικόστρατος ἐν Πατριώταις· κάπηλος γὰρ οὑκ τῶν γειτόνων ἄν τʼ οἶνον ἄν τε φανὸν ἀποδῶταί τινι ἄν τʼ ὄξος, ἀπέπεμψʼ κατάρατος δοὺς ὕδωρ. Φιλιππίδης Συμπλεούσαις· φανὸς ἡμῖν οὐκ ἔφαινεν οὐδὲ ἕν. CTS URN Retriever

The CTS URN retriever is a tool for retrieving and citing paragraphs, passages, and words in the text of the Deipnosophists by typing the corresponding CTS URN. The Digital Athenaeus is providing the text of the Teubner edition of the Deipnosophists by Georg Kaibel (1887-1890), which is cataloged as perseus-grc2 in the Perseus Catalog.

The syntax of the URNs follows the specification of the CITE Architecture.
