ὅτι δὲ λυχνοῦχοι οἱ νῦν καλούμενοι φανοὶ ὠνομάζοντο Ἀριστοφάνης ἐν Αἰολοσίκωνι παρίστησιν· καὶ διαστίλβονθʼ ὁρῶμεν, ὥσπερ ἐν κενῷ λυχνούχῳ, πάντα τῆς ἐξωμίδος. ἐν δὲ τῷ δευτέρῳ Νιόβῳ προειπὼν λυχνοῦχον οἴμοι κακόδαιμον, φησίν, λυχνοῦχος ἡμῖν οἴχεται. εἶτʼ ἐπιφέρει· καὶ πῶς ὑπερβὰς τὸν λυχνοῦχον οἴχεται κἄλαθέ σε; ἐν δὲ τοῖς ἑξῆς καὶ λυχνίδιον αὐτὸν καλεῖ διὰ τούτων· ἀλλʼ ὥσπερ λύχνος ὁμοιότατα κάθευδʼ ἐπὶ τοῦ λυχνιδίου. Πλάτων δʼ ἐν Νυκτὶ Μακρᾷ· ἕξουσιν οἱ πομπεῖς λυχνούχους δηλαδή. Φερεκράτης Δουλοδιδασκάλῳ· ἄνυσόν ποτʼ ἐξελθών, κρότος γὰρ γίγνεται, καὶ τὸν λυχνοῦχον ἔκφερʼ ἐνθεὶς τὸν λύχνον. Ἄλεξις δʼ Ἐκκηρυττομένῳ· ὥστʼ ἐξελὼν ἐκ τοῦ λυχνούχου τὸν λύχνον μικροῦ κατακαύσας ἔλαθʼ ἑαυτόν, ὑπὸ μάλης τῇ γαστρὶ μᾶλλον τοῦ δέοντος προσαγαγών. Εὐμήδης δʼ ἐν Σφαττομένῳ προειπών· ἡγοῦ μέν· ἢν δὲ. υκνον εἰς τὸ πρόσθʼ ἰδὼν ......... ατο . ϋμένιδι ........ ς, ἐπιφέρει· .... λυχνούχῳ ... κο.......... Ἐπικράτης δʼ ἐν Τριόδοντι Ῥωποπώλῃ προειπών· λαβὲ τριόδοντα καὶ λυχνοῦχον, ἐπιφέρει· ἐγὼ δὲ δεξιᾷ γε τόνδʼ ἔχω τινά, σιδηρότευκτον ἐναλίων θηρῶν βέλος, κερατίνου τε φωσφόρου λύχνου σέλας. Ἄλεξις Μίδωνι· πρῶτος εὑρὼν μετὰ λυχνούχου περιπατεῖν τῆς νυκτὸς ἦν τις κηδεμὼν τῶν δακτύλων.

The Digital Athenaeus is providing the text of the Teubner edition of the Deipnosophists by Georg Kaibel (1887-1890), which is cataloged as perseus-grc2 in the Perseus Catalog.

The syntax of the URNs follows the specification of the CITE Architecture.
