καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα ἀποβλέψας εἰς αὐτὸν ἔφη· ἀλλʼ ἐπειδή μοι ὀργίζῃ, ἔρχομαί σοι λέξων τὸν συρβηνέων χορὸν ὅστις ἐστί. καὶ Οὐλπιανὸς οἴει γάρ, ἔφη, κάθαρμα, θυμοῦσθαί με ἐφʼ οἷς εἴρηκας κἀπʼ ὀλίγον σου πεφροντικέναι, κύον ἀδδεές; ἀλλʼ ἐπεὶ διδάσκειν μέ τι ἐπαγγέλλῃ, σπονδάς σοι ποιοῦμαι οὐ τριακοντούτιδας ἀλλʼ ἑκατοντούτιδας. σὺ δὲ μόνον δίδασκε τίς συρβηνέων χορός. καὶ ὅς· Κλέαρχος, λῷστε, ἐν δευτέρῳ περὶ Παιδείας οὑτωσί φησιν· λείπεταί τις συρβηνέων χορός, ὧν ἕκαστος τὸ δοκοῦν ἑαυτῷ κατᾳσαι δεῖ, προσέχων οὐδὲν τῷ προκαθημένῳ καὶ διδάσκοντι τὸν χορόν, ἀλλʼ αὐτὸς πολὺ τούτων ἀτακτότερός ἐστιν θεατής. καὶ κατὰ τὸν παρῳδὸν Μάτρωνα· οἳ μὲν γὰρ δὴ πάντες ὅσοι πάρος ἦσαν ἄριστοι, Εὔβοιός τε καὶ Ἑρμογένης δῖοί τε Φίλιπποι, οἳ μὲν δὴ τεθνᾶσι καὶ εἰν Ἀίδαο δόμοισιν· ἔστι δέ τις Κλεόνικος, ὃν ἀθάνατον λάχε γῆρας, οὔτε ποιητάων ἀδαήμων οὔτε θεάτρων, καὶ τεθνειῶτι λαλεῖν πόρε Φερσεφόνεια σὺ δὲ καὶ ζῶν, καλὲ Οὐλπιανέ, πάντα μὲν ζητεῖς, λέγεις δὲ οὐδὲ ἕν. καὶ ὃς τίς ἡδέως, ἔφη, τῶν ἐπῶν ....... καλέ μου ἑταῖρε, ἕως ἔτι ἐμμένομεν ταῖς σπονδαῖς.

CTS URN Retriever

The Digital Athenaeus is providing the text of the Teubner edition of the Deipnosophists by Georg Kaibel (1887-1890), which is cataloged as perseus-grc2 in the Perseus Catalog.

The syntax of the URNs follows the specification of the CITE Architecture.

Using CTS URNs, it is possible to export citations of the Deipnosophists down to the word level. By selecting a portion of text holding down the ALT-key, users get a pop-up window with the CTS URN that identifies the selected chunk of text.
