τοὺς δὲ σύμπαντας ΙΩΝΑΣ ἐπισκώπτων Καλλίας Διοκλῆς ἐν Κύκλωψί φησιν· τί γὰρ τρυφερὰ καὶ καλλιτράπεζος Ἰωνία εἴφʼ τι πράσσει. καὶ ΑΒΥΔΗΝΟΙ Μιλησίων δʼ εἰσὶν ἄποικοι ἀνειμένοι τὴν δίαιτάν εἰσιν καὶ κατεαγότες, ὡς παρίστησιν Ἕρμιππος ἐν Στρατιώταις· χαῖρʼ διαπόντιον στράτευμα, τί πράττομεν; τὰ μὲν πρὸς ὄψιν μαλακῶς ἔχειν ἀπὸ σώματος, κόμῃ τε νεανικῇ σφρίγει τε βραχιόνων. Β. ᾔσθου τὸν Ἄβυδον ὡς ἀνὴρ γεγένηται; καὶ Ἀριστοφάνης Τριφάλητι παρακωμῳδῶν πολλοὺς τῶν Ἰώνων· ἔπειθʼ ὅσοι παρῆσαν ἐπίδημοι ξένοι ἐπηκολούθουν κἠντιβόλουν προσκείμενοι· ὅκως ἔχων τὸν παῖδα πωλήσει ʼς Χίον, ἕτερος δʼ ὅκως ἐς Κλαζομενάς, ἕτερος δʼ ὅκως ἐς Ἔφεσον, δʼ ἐς Ἄβυδον. ἦν δʼ ἐκεῖνα πάνθʼ ὁδῷ. περὶ δὲ τῶν Ἀβυδηνῶν Ἀντιφῶν ἐν τῷ κατὰ Ἀλκιβιάδου λοιδορίας γράφει οὕτως· ἐπειδὴ ἐδοκιμάσθης ὑπὸ τῶν ἐπιτρόπων, παραλαβὼν παρʼ αὐτῶν τὰ σαυτοῦ χρήματα ᾤχου ἀποπλέων εἰς Ἄβυδον, οὔτε χρέος ἴδιον σαυτοῦ πραξόμενος οὐδὲν οὔτε προξενίας οὐδεμιᾶς ἕνεκεν, ἀλλὰ τῇ σαυτοῦ παρανομίᾳ καὶ ἀκολασίᾳ τῆς γνώμης ὁμοίους ἔργων τρόπους μαθησόμενος παρὰ τῶν ἐν Ἀβύδῳ γυναικῶν, ὅπως ἐν τῷ ἐπιλοίπῳ βίῳ σαυτοῦ ἔχοις χρῆσθαι αὐτοῖς.

The Digital Athenaeus is providing the text of the Teubner edition of the Deipnosophists by Georg Kaibel (1887-1890), which is cataloged as perseus-grc2 in the Perseus Catalog.

The syntax of the URNs follows the specification of the CITE Architecture.
