Ἡρακλέων δὲ Ἐφέσιος ὃν ἡμεῖς, φησί, ψυγέα καλοῦμεν, ψυκτηρίαν τινὲς ὀνομάζουσιν. τοὺς δʼ Ἀττικοὺς καὶ κωμῳδεῖν τὸν ψυγέα ὡς ξενικὸν ὄνομα. Εὔφρων ἐν Ἀποδιδούσῃ· ἐπὰν δὲ καλέσῃ ψυγέα τὸν ψυκτηρίαν, τὸ τευτλίον δὲ σεῦτλα, φακέαν τὴν φακῆν, τί δεῖ ποιεῖν; σὺ γὰρ εἶπον. Β. ὥσπερ χρυσίου φωνῆς ἀπότισον, Πυργόθεμι, καταλλαγήν. Ἀντιφάνης Ἱππεῦσι· πῶς οὖν διαιτώμεσθα; τὸ μὲν ἐφίππιον στρῶμʼ ἐστὶν ἡμῖν, δὲ καλὸς πῖλος κάδος, ψυκτήρ, ὅτι βούλει, πάντʼ, Ἀμαλθείας κέρας. ἐν δὲ τῇ Καρίνῃ σαφῶς δηλοῦται, ὅτι τούτῳ ἐχρῶντο οἰνοχοοῦντες κυάθῳ. εἰπὼν γάρ· τρίποδα καὶ κάδον παραθέμενος ψυκτῆρά τʼ οἴνου .... μεθύσκεται, ἐν τοῖς ἑξῆς ποιεῖ αὐτὸν λέγοντα· ἔσται πότος σφοδρότερος. οὐκοῦν, εἰ φράσαι τις, οὐκ ἔτι ἔξεστι κυαθίζειν γάρ ...... τὸν δὲ κάδον ἔξω καὶ τὸ ποτήριον λαβὼν ἀπόφερε τἄλλα πάντα. Διονύσιος δὲ τοῦ Τρύφωνος ἐν τῷ περὶ Ὀνομάτων τὸν ψυγέα, φησίν, ἐκάλουν οἱ ἀρχαῖοι δῖνον. Νίκανδρος δʼ Θυατειρηνὸς καλεῖσθαί φησι ψυκτήρια καὶ τοὺς ἀλσώδεις καὶ συσκίους τόπους τοὺς τοῖς θεοῖς ἀνειμένους, ἐν οἷς ἔστιν ἀναψῦξαι. Αἰσχύλος Νεανίσκοις· σαύρας ὑποσκίοισιν ἐν ψυκτηρίοις. Εὐριπίδης Φαέθοντι· ψυκτήρια δένδρεα φίλαισιν ὠλέναισι δέξεται. καὶ τὸν Αἰγίμιον δὲ ποιήσας εἴθʼ Ἡσίοδός ἐστιν Κέρκωψ Μιλήσιος· ἔνθα ποτʼ ἔσται ἐμὸν ψυκτήριον, ὄρχαμε λαῶν.

The Digital Athenaeus is providing the text of the Teubner edition of the Deipnosophists by Georg Kaibel (1887-1890), which is cataloged as perseus-grc2 in the Perseus Catalog.

The syntax of the URNs follows the specification of the CITE Architecture.
