ἐν δὲ Σαπφοῖ Ἀντιφάνης αὐτὴν τὴν ποιήτριαν προβάλλουσαν ποιεῖ γρίφους τόνδε τὸν τρόπον, ἐπιλυομένου τινὸς οὕτως. μὲν γάρ φησιν· ἔστι φύσις θήλεια βρέφη σῴζουσʼ ὑπὸ κόλποις αὑτῆς, ὄντα δʼ ἄφωνα βοὴν ἵστησι γεγωνὸν καὶ διὰ πόντιον οἶδμα καὶ ἠπείρου διὰ πάσης οἷς ἐθέλει θνητῶν, τοῖς δʼ οὐδὲ παροῦσιν ἀκούειν ἔξεστιν· κωφὴν δʼ ἀκοῆς αἴσθησιν ἔχουσιν. ταῦτά τις ἐπιλυόμενός φησιν· μὲν φύσις γὰρ ἣν λέγεις ἐστὶν πόλις, βρέφη δʼ ἐν αὑτῇ διατρέφει τοὺς ῥήτορας. οὗτοι κεκραγότες δὲ τὰ διαπόντια τἀκ τῆς Ἀσίας καὶ τἀπὸ Θρᾴκης λήμματα ἕλκουσι δεῦρο. νεμομένων δὲ πλησίον αὐτῶν κάθηται λοιδορουμένων τʼ ἀεὶ δῆμος οὐδὲν οὔτʼ ἀκούων οὔθʼ ὁρῶν. Σ. ..... πῶς γὰρ γένοιτʼ ἄν, πάτερ, ῥήτωρ ἄφωνος; Β. ἢν ἁλῷ τρὶς παρανόμων. καὶ μὴν ἀκριβῶς ᾠόμην ἐγνωκέναι τὸ ῥηθέν. ἀλλὰ δὴ λέγε. ἔπειτα ποιεῖ τὴν Σαπφὼ διαλυομένην τὸν γρῖφον οὕτως· θήλεια μέν νύν ἐστι φύσις ἐπιστολή, βρέφη δʼ ἐν αὑτῇ περιφέρει τὰ γράμματα· ἄφωνα δʼ ὄντα ταῦτα τοῖς πόρρω λαλεῖ οἷς βούλεθʼ· ἕτερος δʼ ἂν τύχῃ τις πλησίον ἑστὼς ἀναγιγνώσκοντος οὐκ ἀκούσεται.

The syntax of the URNs follows the specification of the CITE Architecture.
